These shorts are made from deadstock ticking fabric, circa 1930s-1950s. Cotton or linen ticking was historically used to make mattresses and pillows. The tightly woven fabric made the bedding durable and prevented the stuffing materials, like straw and down feathers, from poking through. Hand-mending throughout.
